Writing from a personal level, The Prince’s Trust has been a consistent support at every point of my business journey so far. From opening the door to the Enterprise programme when I began my Video and Podcast production company, to mentorship, to vital support during the pandemic, The Prince’s Trust opens doors for young people when it can feel like so many are shut. After extensive collaboration with The Trust over the last couple of years, I am delighted to have been invited to be a Global Leader with The Prince’s Trust. As a Global Leader, I will be supporting the Prince’s Trust and The Common Wealth Games hosted in Birmingham in 2022, and will be sharing more of what we are doing to support the Games as we continue the journey! I am also super excited that this year I have been appointed a Delivery Partner with The Princes Trust helping more young people involved with The Trust develop the skills for a successful future by delivering courses aimed at young adults created by Class of Hyde later in the year. We live in a country that aims to encourage entrepreneurship and optimism for young people futures in a vast range of careers, so I believe it is so important we do what we can to our next generation. Talking informally and honestly, it is easy to fall into the trap of complaining that young people, are just always on their phones, or to describe an entire generation as “snowflakes” based on a few anomalous stories that the press run with. One of the reasons I truly admire the Prince’s Trust is their ability to see young people’s true potential, when in many other circumstances, they may be, wrongly, put into not so favorable categories. There are many parallels with the Prince’s Trust’s and Class of Hyde’s objectives (for lack of a less corporate term, sorry!) to support young people’s future. To me, the Prince’s Trust as an entity acts as a mentor whose aim to develop young people’s future, and that is why it is such an honour to be appointed as a Global Leader with the Prince’s Trust. As someone who has lived in the Midlands all their life, I can’t wait to be collaborating with Common Wealth Games Birmingham in it’s build up over the next two years!
